- 4,000 sq mt extension
- 2 interconnecting Multi- Purpose Halls measuring 2500 sq mt
- Hall 1 can be used as one large 1,805m2 area, or sub-divided into 4 smaller spaces.
- Hall 2 can also be divided into two seperate halls or used as one 700m2 space.
- 3 large meeting rooms, each accommodating up to 200 delegates, can also be subdivided into 6 smaller rooms.
In November 2014 BPS were appointed to undertake the Fire Detection System, and Public Address/Voice Annunciation Systems at the project.
Building Protection Systems has provided Fire Detection & Public Address/Voice Annunciation Services to the original Waterfront Hall Complex over a number of years.
This new £25.9M project, is an extension to provide much needed Conference Facilities within the Belfast City Centre Area.
The successful Main Contractor for the project, McLaughlin & Harvey appointed Harvey Group M&E Services to undertake the Mechanical & Electrical Services. Harvey Group in turn appointed BPS to undertake the complete Cabling & Installation works, as well as supply & commissioning for the Fire Detection & Public Address/Voice Annunciation Systems.
Progress is well advanced on site on the works. BPS are well progressed on first fix secondary containment & cabling works, with second fix services just commenced.
The Fire Detection & Alarm System is a Site-Wide networked multi-panel arrangement, complying with BS5839-1 Type ‘L1’ which will be integrated with the Public Address using ‘Speech Messages’ as the primary means of evacuation, should a fire evacuation be required. This is particularly beneficial in large multi-storey, multi-function places of public entertainment.
A Disabled Persons Refuge and integrated Disabled WC Alarm Systems is also being provided.
The Facility is due to open in early 2016.
